Kapsowar: In a move aimed at enhancing financial inclusion, ASA International Kenya Limited, a microfinance enterprise, has officially opened its Kapsowar Branch in Elgeyo Marakwet County. The launch brought together local entrepreneurs, community leaders, and officials from ASA International’s Rift Valley Division to celebrate this milestone.

According to Kenya News Agency, Kipkemoi Dennis, a representative from ASA International Kenya Limited, highlighted the institution’s dedication to supporting low-income entrepreneurs, particularly women, through accessible credit facilities. ‘ASA International Kenya Limited is a credit-only institution registered under Kenyan law. Our mission is to provide small, socially responsible loans to female entrepreneurs engaged in income-generating activities. By doing this, we empower communities and fuel economic progress,’ stated Dennis.

As a subsidiary of ASA International, one of the world’s largest microfinance institutions, ASA Kenya operates under the ASA Model of microfinance, which ensures efficient and sustainable lending practices for small business owners. Community members expressed their enthusiasm about the new branch, citing the difficulties they previously faced in securing financial support. ‘This new branch is a blessing. Many of us have struggled to obtain credit from banks due to strict requirements. Now, with ASA International here, we have hope for business expansion,’ said local trader Sarah Jepchirchir.

The establishment of the Kapsowar Branch aligns with broader national efforts to increase financial accessibility in rural areas. ASA International aims to bridge the credit gap and empower local entrepreneurs by offering tailored financial solutions that drive business growth.
