Ziro: Arouna Barry has officially assumed his new role as the Provincial Director of Infrastructure and Accessibility, taking over from Lazare Yougbare, who held the position for nine years. The transition took place this Tuesday after Barry’s appointment by the Council of Ministers on June 4, 2025.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the handover ceremony was marked by a friendly atmosphere filled with emotion and gratitude. A staff representative commended Lazare Yougbare for his leadership and the progress achieved during his tenure, expressing gratitude and extending best wishes for his future endeavors.
In his farewell speech, Yougbare thanked his colleagues for their dedication and the administrative authorities for their support. He expressed pride in the advancements made and encouraged his former team to offer the same level of support to Barry.
The new director, Arouna Barry, emphasized the importance of sincere cooperation among all stakeholders in the province. He vowed to build upon the achievements of his predecessor and committed to contributing to the local development of Ziro.
High Commissioner Saba Zorom©, who presided over the ceremony, congratulated both officials and provided guidance to Barry. He also reaffirmed his commitment to supporting initiatives aimed at enhancing infrastructure within the province.
