Argentina Confirms Match with Angola on Independence Celebration

Buenos Aires: The Argentine Football Association (AFA) has confirmed the holding of a friendly match with the Angolan national team on November 11, as part of the celebrations of the jubilee of National Independence. The confirmation came from a meeting held on Wednesday in Buenos Aires between the president of the AFA, Cl¡udio Tapia, and the president of the Angolan Football Federation (FAF), Alves Simµes.



According to Angola Press News Agency, the entities agreed on details inherent to the friendly match, which will be held at the 11 de Novembro stadium in Luanda, followed by a guided tour of the facilities of the host institution. A note from the Angolan Embassy in Argentina, accessed by ANGOP this Thursday, indicates that Cl¡udio Tapia is planning a visit to Angola, on a date to be announced, for final arrangements, including logistical issues, stadium inspection, accommodation, and security.



In a separate statement, the president of the FAF, Alves Simµes, mentioned that the process is nearly complete and confirmed that Lionel Messi will be part of the delegation as the captain of the national team. He described the meeting with his Argentine counterpart as cordial and productive, emphasizing discussions about possible forms of collaboration between the teams of Angola and Argentina.



The communication from the FAF leader highlights the belief that sharing experiences and carrying out joint actions can significantly contribute to the development of football in both countries. The rapprochement with Argentina is seen as a reinforcement of the FAF’s commitment to the internationalization and growth of Angolan football in all its aspects.
