Bomet: The APS Bomet FC celebrated a home victory against the visiting 3K FC from Embu County, securing a 3-2 win in an exhilarating Easter Sunday match at the Bomet stadium. This win rekindled their aspirations of competing in the Kenyan top flight.

According to Kenya News Agency, this encounter marked APS Bomet’s 28th match in the National Super League (NSL), where they currently hold the second spot, trailing only Nairobi United, in the pursuit of a place in the FKF Premier League next season.

“The game was hard for both sides. I can’t say that we had a better rating than our opponent who came while prepared,” stated Michael Muhandia, the Assistant Coach of APS Bomet FC. He highlighted that both teams are vying for a spot in the KPL, with APS Bomet standing second in the league’s table standings.

“We thank God for the three added points but the race is still on. Our fans came in big numbers to support us, and we are assuring them that we shall do well in the remaining games,” he added.

Despite the challenging conditions, players Antony Naibei and Jimmy Nzechere of APS shared their thoughts on the match, which was affected by heavy rains. “The game was fine, though the weather was not conducive; we tried our best,” said Naibei.

In a tight match, APS Bomet almost lost their winning momentum in the final minutes as they were held to a 2-2 draw, but midfielder Lawrence Kibet scored the decisive third goal to secure the win. “The game was fair, though the winning was somehow gone from us, but we promise that in the next games we are going to win since the winning spirit is back,” stated Nzechere.

The visitors, 3K FC, initially took the lead in the 14th minute. APS Bomet equalized at the 25th minute through Maxwell Kubasu, and Festus Kipkemoi later gave them a 3-2 lead by halftime.
