Ouagadougou: Apostolic Nuncio to Ghana, Bishop Julien Kaboré, met with Burkina Faso’s President, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, on Thursday to express his appreciation for the support shown to him during his episcopal ordination in Rome on September 14. The meeting highlighted the solidarity extended by the Burkinabe people and government through an official delegation at the event.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the presence of Burkinabe brothers and sisters at the ordination deeply touched him, and he felt it necessary to convey his gratitude personally to the President. He reiterated the message of peace and reconciliation delivered by Pope Francis following the terrorist attack in Barsalogho and emphasized his hope for the restoration of peace in Burkina Faso. The Catholic Church, he added, is actively involved in peacebuilding efforts, working in collaboration with other religious communities to promote social cohesion.
