Nakambe: A team from the Agency for the Promotion of Community Entrepreneurship (APEC), led by its Director General, Mr. Karim TraorE, visited an agricultural site in the NakambE agropole in the rural commune of BagrE, NakambE region. Like the site in NiEguEma in the Guiriko region, this second site is dedicated to tomato production for supplying processing plants.
According to Burkina Information Agency, Mr. TRAORE emphasized that the production model is based on engaging youth, particularly agricultural VDPs and graduates of agricultural vocational schools. He stated that every young person is encouraged to become an agricultural entrepreneur, capable of job creation and contributing to industrial supply. This approach aligns with the vision of Comrade President Captain Ibrahim TraorE, who supports popular shareholding as a tool for large-scale job creation and economic sovereignty.
The Director General expressed appreciation for the leadership of the Head of State and the support of the Minister of State for Agriculture, Mr. Isma«l SOMBIE, in making these sites available. These locations will serve as pilot sites for intensive tomato production and as models for spreading best practices in tomato cultivation and industrial seeds. He also encouraged the public to participate in the community shareholding program to ensure food production and processing in Burkina Faso, providing healthy meals for the Burkinab¨ people.
Mr. Inoussa OUEDRAOGO, Tax Advisor for the NakambE agropole, shared his satisfaction with APEC's focus on crop production. He views this initiative as a significant advancement towards securing a steady supply of fresh tomatoes for processing plants. He noted that the BagrE site is fertile enough to help APEC achieve its objectives.
Through this initiative, APEC reaffirms its leading role in realizing the President of Faso's vision of building a robust community economy based on local production and processing.
