Windhoek: Outjo Constituency councillor Johannes Antsino has expressed gratitude to the Swapo Party and residents of Outjo for entrusting him with the opportunity to serve as their regional councillor for the past 10 years. Speaking during a mini rally the ruling party held on Sunday in Outjo's informal settlement, Antsino said he was honoured to have led the constituency for a decade.
According to Namibia Press Agency, Antsino expressed a special appreciation to all for allowing him ten years to lead the Outjo Constituency. He described his tenure as a rewarding journey and stated that he is ready to hand over leadership to the next councillor who shares the same political drive. He reaffirmed his loyalty to the Swapo Party, urging residents not to be discouraged by leadership changes nor to shift political allegiance.
During the event, Antsino introduced and presented the newly selected Swapo candidates who will be standing for the upcoming local authority elections in November. Antsino highlighted developments in education and infrastructure as some of the party's achievements in the constituency. He mentioned achievements such as free education and the construction of new schools, along with renovations to existing ones.
He further noted that youth empowerment remains a key priority for Swapo, adding that the government has already availed resources to support such initiatives. Antsino pointed out ongoing water projects in Outjo aimed at ensuring access to clean and potable water for residents. He urged the Outjo community to continue supporting the Swapo Party to sustain ongoing development efforts in the constituency.
