Anthrax Outbreak Confirmed in Vihiga County

Vihiga: The Department of Health Services in Vihiga County has confirmed an outbreak of cutaneous anthrax in Emuhaya Sub-County. According to Kenya News Agency, County Director of Public Health Martin Otsosi reported two human cases, with one fatality confirmed due to the infection. In response, the county government has initiated enhanced surveillance measures, including active case finding and monitoring of affected areas, to contain the disease's spread.

The county health department reassures the public that response teams are actively working in the field, with further interventions ongoing to prevent additional infections.
