Antalya: For the 4th time, the Republic of Turkey is organizing the Antalya Diplomatic Forum from April 11 to 13, 2025. The opening ceremony took place this Friday under the patronage of His Excellency Recep Tayyip ERDOGAN, President of the Republic of Turkey. At this edition, the work is held around the theme “Reclaiming diplomacy in a fragmented world”. This is a topical issue that reflects the urgent need for diplomacy to assert itself as a stabilizing force in a geopolitical context marked by growing global divisions. This forum therefore presents itself as a platform offered to participants from around the world, to work on common strategies aimed at making diplomacy the driving force of peace and cooperation.

According to Burkina Information Agency, as in previous editions, Burkina Faso is taking part in this Antalya meeting with a delegation led by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Regional Cooperation and Burkinabe Abroad. “The Republic of Turkey and Burkina Faso maintain very good cooperation. We are here primarily in the name of friendship with this country. This forum is also a meeting place for key decision-makers and diplomats from around the world, and it is an appropriate meeting place for exchanging and strengthening networks and experiences,” explains HE Karamoko Jean Marie TRAORE. He added that since Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger are part of the confederal dynamic, this Forum is a framework for exchanges aimed at strengthening the positioning of the Confederation of Sahel States on the international scene.

Speaking about the central theme and sub-themes that are addressed at this Forum, the Head of Burkinabe diplomacy specified that the Sahel will focus on the themes that impact the lives of the populations of this area, such as African integration, the development of landlocked countries, the building of resilience, etc. The 2025 edition of the Antalya Diplomatic Forum has more than 4,800 in-person participants from 148 countries. Among them, 19 Heads of State, 64 ministers including 52 in charge of Foreign Affairs, and around forty vice-ministers and parliamentarians. During the three days of work, more than 50 sessions will be organized in different formats.

On the sidelines of the Forum, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Regional Cooperation and Burkinabe Abroad will hold meetings with Burkina Faso’s development and bilateral partners. He will also meet the Burkinabe diaspora living in the city of Antalya.
