Silikunga: The Namibian Police Force has reported another car accident on the D3407 gravel road at Silikunga village, where a man lost his life on Monday. Chief Inspector Raimbert Muronga informed Nampa about another incident on the same road involving two members of the Namibian Defence Force (NDF) around 20h30 on Tuesday. The NDF members were traveling from Grootfontein to the Nepara Army Base when the vehicle overturned due to the wet road surface after the driver lost control.

According to Namibia Press Agency, the vehicle was severely damaged, but both occupants sustained only slight injuries and are currently in stable condition. In a separate accident on Monday, a 36-year-old male nurse, identified as Karufere Gideon Hausiku, died on the spot. Four others sustained injuries ranging from slight to serious when their vehicle overturned on the same road.

Kavango West Police Regional Commander, Commissioner Julia Sakuwa-Neo, stated that the Monday accident occurred between 17h00 and 18h00. All occupants of the Toyota Land Cruiser were on duty at the time. It is reported that the driver lost control while attempting to avoid colliding with two donkeys that appeared to be moving towards the road. Unbeknownst to the driver, the donkeys were tied to a tree, causing the vehicle to overturn. Tragically, one passenger died at the scene.

Hausiku was employed as a nurse at the Nankudu hospital, and his next of kin have been informed.
