Annual Educational Conference for Teachers Officially Launched in Dourtenga

Ouagadougou: The official launch of the annual pedagogical conference of teachers of the Basic Education District (CEB) of Dourtenga, in the province of Koulpelogo, took place this Wednesday, October 15, 2025. The opening ceremony was chaired by the President of the Special Delegation (PDS) of the commune, Derra Nasser, in the presence of educational leaders, partners, and stakeholders from the school world.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the conference, themed on the implementation of educational reforms and the appropriation of pedagogical innovations, aims to provide a framework for exchanges and capacity building for teachers. This is aimed at improving the quality of learning in schools within the district.

In his opening remarks, the PDS acknowledged the resilience and dedication of Dourtenga’s teaching staff amidst challenges in the education system. He commended the CEB for satisfactory results achieved in the past school year, which reflect the teachers’ commitment and professionalism.

Mr. Derra also expressed his support for the teachers’ approach to implementing English in primary schools, viewing it as essential for preparing students for a global educational and professional environment.

Mr. Armand Noukoubri, Head of the CEB of Dourtenga, highlighted that the conference serves as a significant moment for consultation, evaluation of teaching practices, and sharing of experiences to address academic success challenges.

The conference, set to run from October 15 to 18, 2025, will involve teachers from both public and private schools in the district, engaging in various thematic work sites.

Over the four-day period, participants will engage in discussions and group work on educational reforms, active pedagogy, language teaching, and strategies aimed at improving academic performance.
