Announcement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding Greek citizens currently in Ukraine or wishing to travel to the country (14.02.2022)

A meeting was convened this morning at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs by Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nikos Dendias, in which Minister of National Defence, Nikos Panagiotopoulos, Minister of Education and Religious Affairs, Niki Kerameus, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Andreas Katsaniotis as well as officials from these Ministries participated.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly discourages all travel in any part of Ukraine’s territory, and at the same time advises Greek citizens currently in Ukraine to leave the country immediately.

Greek citizens who have not already left the country, are also advised to immediately register their contact details with the Greek Embassy in Kyiv.

In this respect, it is noted that the staff levels at our Embassy in Kyiv have been reduced to essential personnel only.

At the same time, the staff of the Consulate General in Mariupol will be increased.
