ANKARA: Turkey is in coordination with Russia and Ukraine on the matter of security in the Black Sea, but there have been no plans for talks on the matter in the country, a source in the office of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan told RIA Novosti on Tuesday.

According to Namibia Press Agency, the source stated, “We remain in constant contact with the parties on the issue of security in the Black Sea,” in response to the Turkish Defense Ministry’s plans to hold an event related to this issue. Despite ongoing communications, there are currently no plans for direct talks on Black Sea security to be held in Turkey.

The source further explained that while there are frequent statements of readiness for mediation from Turkey, there have been no indications from the involved parties that they are prepared to enter negotiations. “The Turkish side is relentlessly continuing its efforts towards the Ukraine settlement,” the source added, emphasizing Turkey’s ongoing diplomatic efforts.

Ankara is also looking forward to effective proposals from the United States regarding the Black Sea initiative and anticipates progress on the matter of exporting Russian agricultural products to international markets, as mentioned by the source.
