Angotic2025: Communication Development Fund Announces Creation of Free Internet Access Centers

Luanda: The Communications Development Support Fund (FADCOM) has revealed plans to establish community centers that will provide free internet access, television, and computers. This announcement was made by Mario da Silva, FADCOM’s coordinator for Participation and Investments, during the 5th edition of ANGOTIC 2025.

According to Angola Press News Agency, M¡rio da Silva explained that this initiative is part of the “Cogumelo das TIC” project, which aims to offer multifunctional spaces for educational, professional, and social activities in remote communities. The goal is to enhance digital inclusion through information technologies.

M¡rio da Silva emphasized that this project will complement existing initiatives like Conecta Angola, Angola Digital, and Angola Online. Sabrina Mpiteo, Executive Director of Startup Doubles Service and a FADCOM sponsor, noted the growth of Angola’s technology sector and its commitment to innovation, highlighting the increasing role of women in creating animated series.

Additionally, Abel Cutarica, co-founder of Startup Kuzola Studio, also sponsored by FADCOM, underscored the importance of events like ANGOTIC 2025 in advancing the technology sector and engaging young people in innovative solutions. The International Forum on Information and Communication Technologies, ANGOTIC 2025, concludes today under the theme ’50 years communicating, modernizing and developing Angola.’
