ANGOTIC 2026 to Launch ‘Track 2 Space Startups’ Competition

Luanda: The 6th edition of the Angola International Forum on Information and Communication Technologies (ANGOTIC 2026) will introduce an exciting competition titled "Track 2 Space Startups." This initiative aims to award five innovative Angolan startups with international training and acceleration programs in France.

According to Angola Press News Agency, the competition has been developed by the Ministry of Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Social Communication (MINTTICS), in collaboration with the National Space Program Management Office (GGPEN), Airbus, and Aerospace Valley. The goal is to identify, promote, and accelerate innovative solutions leveraging space technologies, developed by Angolan startups, each represented by two entrepreneurs.

The competition, designed and operated by BUKA, B360, and Bongue, will be conducted as part of the ANGEO-1 project and the official ANGOTIC 2026 program. It offers national entrepreneurs a platform to showcase innovative products and services that utilize spatial applications to tackle economic and social challenges.

Targeting Angolan startups with developed or advanced technological solutions, the competition focuses on the application of space technologies. These include areas such as Earth observation, geolocation, satellite telecommunications, geospatial analysis, precision agriculture, environmental monitoring, natural resource management, and smart city development.

The note from the forum's organization highlights that winners will participate in the Start-Up Learning Expedition program, promoted by Aerospace Valley, a leading European aerospace innovation ecosystem. Participants will receive specialized training in creating and managing innovation environments, engaging with technology companies, startups, and leading space sector manufacturers, and developing sustainable business models.

The competition aims to equip startups with business strategies, market access, presentation techniques, and investor attraction skills. Furthermore, it prepares proposals for potential clients and funders. The five winning startups will undergo a specialized acceleration and mentoring program within the Aerospace Valley ecosystem for three months, focusing on project growth, strengthening business models, and preparing opportunities with potential clients and funders.

The document also clarifies that all expenses related to travel, accommodation, and logistics for the selected participants will be fully covered by the organization, through GGPEN and Airbus.
