Luanda: The 6th edition of ANGOTIC-2026 is expected to welcome more than 200 startups and attract 20,000 visitors, the Minister of Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Social Communication (MINTTICS), Mário Oliveira, stated during an assessment visit to the event site. Preparations are proceeding naturally and the organization is in its final stages. According to Angola Press News Agency, Mário Oliveira highlighted the growth of the forum, emphasizing the participation of Angolan startups as a key feature of the 2026 edition. He noted that there will be a significant presence of startups not only from Luanda but also from other provinces, with numbers exceeding 200. The minister mentioned that the innovation of these companies will be the main focus of the event, serving as a platform for the promotion and leverage of technological businesses. The organization aims to surpass the 11,000 visitors registered in the 2025 edition, targeting around 20,000 participants this year. Oliveira also emphas ized that the forum reflects the government's commitment to Angola's digital transformation. The event will see participation from operators, suppliers, international companies, and national talents. Scheduled from the 11th to the 13th of this month, ANGOTIC is Angola's leading Information and Communication Technologies Forum, gathering companies, startups, experts, academics, and government institutions for innovation, debate, and networking. An initiative by MINTTICS, the event seeks to boost the country's digital transformation by promoting technological solutions that enhance strategic sectors, including connectivity, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and digital government. This year's edition, themed 'On the route to digital transformation,' aims to set a milestone in technology and innovation in Angola. The focus will be on digitalization, modernization, sustainable innovation, inclusion, and strengthening cooperation. ANGOTIC-2026 is expected to showcase the creative and innovative capacity of companies in the ICT sector, both national and foreign. It will also address key issues in the sector, such as artificial intelligence, fake news, electronic governance, local products and services, digital television, and data centers.
