Angola’s Rhythmic Gymnastics Team Secures Bronze at African Championship

Tshwane: Angola's senior female Rhythmic Gymnastics Team has achieved a significant milestone by securing a bronze medal in the team category at the 20th African Championship held in Tshwane, South Africa. According to Angola Press News Agency, the Angolan squad, comprising athletes Luana Gomes, Aysha Morgado, and Florência Missende, represented their country in the senior category competition. Their impressive performance culminated in a well-deserved bronze medal, marking a moment of pride for the team and their nation. In addition to the team's success, Luana Gomes emerged as a standout performer in the Individual Category. She claimed three bronze medals, further solidifying her status as a key figure in the Angolan gymnastics scene. Her achievements did not stop there; Gomes is set to compete in the finals of four apparatuses-Ball, Clubs, Ribbon, and Hoop-showcasing her versatility and skill in the sport. The Angolan junior team is also in pursuit of a podium finish, aiming for the third position in t he Teams competition. The delegation, under the guidance of coaches Larissa Ribeiro for the senior team and Renata Filhó for the junior team, continues to strive for excellence in the continental competition, which began on April 29. The Angolan athletes participating in the championship include Florência Missende, Brígida Gouveia, Ivanóvia Carvalho, Risilana Monteiro, Keliana Sambo, Jacira Manuel, Aysha Morgado, Fátima Lelo, Josefina Manuel, Camila Pereira, Luana Gomes, and Angelina Madolo. Their collective efforts and dedication are a testament to Angola's growing presence in the world of rhythmic gymnastics.
