Luanda: The senior women’s national handball team of Angola is gearing up for the World Championship by playing two preparation matches in Hungary during the International Handball Federation (IHF) week. On Thursday, they will face Alba FKC from the Hungarian First League, marking the first of these crucial games. The championship is scheduled to occur from November 26 to December 7 in Germany and Hungary.
According to Angola Press News Agency, the Angolan team, led by coach Carlos Viver, arrived in Hungary last Monday. They are taking full advantage of the IHF week, with another match planned against Dunaºj, another team from the Hungarian league, on Friday. This afternoon, the team engaged in a tactical training session to fine-tune their strategies.
This marks the second IHF week this year that the African champions are utilizing for their preparation in Hungary, playing two essential matches. The roster for the Angolan national team includes goalkeepers Marta Alberto, Eliane Paulo, and Swelly Simo, along with players such as Helena Paulo, Isabel, Azenaide Carlos, and Juliana Machado, among others. These athletes are gearing up to represent Angola on the international stage.
