Angolan Technicians Gain Advanced Energy Tech Skills in China

Shenzhen: A group of technicians from the Ministry of Energy and Water (MINEA) concluded strategic training on technological innovation and digital transformation, as part of a partnership with the Chinese multinational Huawei Technologies.

According to Angola Press News Agency, the initiative is part of the Digital Transformation Program of the National Electric System, focused on modernizing and reinforcing the operational efficiency of the sector in Angola. The training, which took place from the 6th to the 16th of this month, aimed to equip staff from the Office of Information Technologies, Institutional Communication and Press (GTICII) with skills in crucial areas such as cloud computing, big data, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and the Internet of Things (IoT).

During the training period at the headquarters of the Chinese technology company, Angolan experts engaged in technical visits to innovation centers, allowing them direct contact with solutions applicable to the current challenges of the national energy grid. The document highlights that the training plan will continue in the coming days, with a second group of technicians expected to be sent for training between April 20th and 30th.

According to the note, within the scope of the same cooperation between the Ministry of Energy and Water and Huawei, both institutions are working on the preparation of the "White Paper on National Digital Transformation and Evolution Planning". This is a strategic instrument that will serve as a guide for technological modernization and increased transparency and effectiveness in administrative and operational processes in the energy sector.

With these actions, the Angolan Executive reaffirms its commitment to the digital transition, aiming for sustainable development and improving the provision of public services, in alignment with the country's socioeconomic progress goals, concludes the document.
