LUANDA – Angola’s representatives in the African Football Confederation (CAF) Cup, Sagrada Esperança da Lunda Norte and Académica do Lobito, will commence their group stage journey in the continental competition next Sunday. Both teams have set their sights on advancing to the later stages of the tournament.
According to the CAF Cup organizers, Sagrada Esperança da Lunda Norte will host Club Olympique de Coyah from Guinea Conakry at the 11 de Novembro stadium in Luanda for their Group B match, while Académica do Lobito will travel to Nigeria to face Rivers United in Group C. The goal for these two Angolan clubs is to reach the semi-finals of the Confederation Cup, which is the second-largest football competition in Africa, after the Champions Clubs League.
In Group B, Sagrada Esperança da Lunda Norte will compete alongside Zamalek from Egypt, winners of the 2019 edition, CO Coyal from Guinea, and Abu Salim from Libya. Meanwhile, Académica do Lobito in Group C will face challenges from Rivers United of Nigeria, Club Africain of Tunisia, and Dreams FC of Ghana.
A total of 16 teams are participating in this edition of the Confederation Cup, divided into four groups. The fixtures for the first round scheduled for Sunday, 11/26, are as follows:

Zamalek FC (Egypt) vs Abu Salem (Libya) at 5pm
