Belgrade: Angolan Joo Louren§o visited on Wednesday the Vlatacom Institute, a company specializing in information and communication technologies, in Belgrade, Serbia. The Angolan Head of State was received by the institution's director, Vladimir Cizelj, and officials from the telecommunications sector of that European country.
According to Angola Press News Agency, before the start of the visit, which was part of the 72-hour official visit to that European country, Vladimir Cizelj requested a minute of silence in memory of the former Angolan Minister of Foreign Affairs, Manuel Domingos Augusto, who recently passed away. The Serbian official stated that he knew the Angolan diplomat well and highlighted his competence and human qualities.
During the visit, Joo Louren§o toured various areas of the company and learned about Vlatacom's capabilities in the field of production, modernization, and development of technological and telecommunications systems. The visit is part of efforts to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the areas of information and communication technology, a sector covered by the legal instruments signed on Tuesday between Angola and Serbia.
Also on Wednesday, the Angolan president visited the Serbian Military Technical Institute, an institution focused on research, development, and modernization of armaments and defense equipment. There, Joo Louren§o received explanations about the institution's operation and watched an exhibition of military equipment and learnt about Serbian capabilities in the field of defense material production and modernization.
