Angolan President Urges Indian Businessmen to Explore Investment Opportunities in Angola

New Delhi: Angolan president Joo Lourenço, while addressing the Angola-India Business Forum in New Delhi, encouraged Indian businessmen to invest in Angola by highlighting the country’s potential and improving business environment. The forum attracted over 180 businessmen from both Angola and India, emphasizing the growing economic ties between the two nations.

According to Angola Press News Agency, President Lourenço emphasized ongoing reforms in Angola that have notably decreased the time and cost associated with establishing a business. He elaborated on the simplification of licensing procedures and the enhancement of investment protection mechanisms. These legislative and administrative reforms have reportedly contributed to the Angolan economy’s projected growth rate of 4.43% in 2024, marking the highest growth in the last decade.

President Lourenço attributed this economic progress to the non-oil sector, underscoring the economic transformation occurring in Angola. He expressed his belief that sustain
able transformation requires solid, equitable, and innovative partnerships. In this context, he praised India’s entrepreneurial spirit, technological expertise, and innovation capabilities, which Angola aims to partner with.

The Angolan president extended an invitation to Indian entrepreneurs, investors, and economic institutions to explore Angola’s potential, promising that they will find a nation open to the world with a vibrant youth, a developing economy, and a government dedicated to progress.
