LUANDA – President João Lourenço inaugurated three new deputy governors in a swearing-in ceremony held in Luanda on Monday.
According to Angola Press News Agency, the new deputy governors are assigned to the provinces of Luanda, Malanje, and Namibe. They have been urged by the President to contribute to diversifying the national economy and advancing the socio-economic development of Angola.
In his address, President Lourenço highlighted the inclusion of Franco Cazembe Mufinda, the former State Secretary for Public Health, who had a notable role in the fight against Covid-19. Lourenço stressed that the current challenge is not about battling the virus but about diversifying the economy and fostering the country’s socio-economic development. He wished the newly appointed officials success in their new roles, emphasizing their responsibilities beginning immediately.
