Angolan President Meets Palestinian Ambassador at Conclusion of Diplomatic Mission

Luanda: President Joo Louren§o received the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the State of Palestine, Jubrael George Bishara Alshomali, on Tuesday, marking the end of his mission in Angola. During their meeting, the two leaders discussed issues of common interest within the framework of existing political and diplomatic cooperation between Angola and Palestine.

According to Angola Press News Agency, the Palestinian diplomat, who served in Angola for three years, did not provide any statements to the press following the audience. Angola maintains cooperation with Palestine primarily based on political, diplomatic, and solidarity support, advocating for the Palestinian people's right to self-determination.

The Angolan State officially recognizes Palestine and supports the two-state solution, envisioning the creation of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state. In international forums, including the United Nations and the Non-Aligned Movement, Angola has consistently backed resolutions favorable to Palestine, emphasizing respect for international law and human rights.

The cooperation between Angola and Palestine is largely political and institutional, rooted in historical solidarity from shared experiences in the struggle for independence. Although economic ties remain limited, there are prospects for growth in areas such as education, culture, and training. Angola continues to affirm its support for peace in the Middle East and the Palestinian cause through diplomatic efforts.
