Praia: The Speaker of the National Assembly (AN) traveled to the city of Praia, Cape Verde, on Thursday to participate in the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of independence of that African country to be marked on July 5, ANGOP has learnt.
According to Angola Press News Agency, bilateral relations between Angola and Cape Verde are marked by deep historical and cultural ties, established since the independence processes of both countries. The two nations have cooperation agreements in areas such as education, defense, security, transportation, health, and trade. The collaboration extends to the multilateral sphere, through organizations such as the Community of Portuguese-Speaking Countries (CPLP) and the African Countries with Portuguese as an Official Language (PALOP), where friendship, solidarity, and mutual commitment to economic integration and sustainable development stand out.
The historical and fraternal relations between Angola and Cape Verde have been strengthened over the years, based on common values and a deep understanding of regional and global realities. Cape Verde, an island country located in the Atlantic Ocean archipelago, stands out for its cultural richness, diversity, and geostrategic position as a point of convergence between continents. This privileged location has favored the development of strong commercial and cultural ties with various nations, including Angola.
