Luanda: Angolan President of the Republic, Joo Lourenço, has sent a message to President Faustin-Archange Touadéra, congratulating him on his re-election for a new term, which recently took place, at the head of the Central African Republic (CAR). According to Angola Press News Agency, a note released by the Presidency of the Republic on Wednesday indicates that the Angolan Head of State expressed his certainty that the re-election to the position of President of the Central African Republic demonstrates the renewed confidence of the CAR people in his leadership. In the message, the note adds, Joo Lourenço considers that the act reaffirms the country's commitment to democratic principles, peace, institutional stability, and the strengthening of the rule of law, in a regional and international context marked by multiple challenges. The Angolan leader took the opportunity to express Angola's interest in continuing to develop efforts aimed at the continuous strengthening of the historical relations of friends hip and cooperation that exist between the two "Peoples, Countries and Governments". Faustin Archange Touadéra was elected President of the Central African Republic in the first round of the presidential elections on Dec 28, 2025, with 76.15% of the votes.
