Luanda: The Angolan Government announced Wednesday the discontinuation of licenses for the tourism sector, aiming to improve the provision of public service and the business environment in this area. The statement was made to the press by the Minister of State and Chief of Staff of the President of the Republic, Ado de Almeida, at the end of the 5th ordinary session of the Council of Ministers, which this Wednesday approved the project to simplify procedures in public administration within the framework of ‘Simplifica 3.0 – Simplifica Turismo’.
According to Angola Press News Agency, Ado de Almeida emphasized that the measure aims to facilitate the exercise of business activity in the tourism sector and attract greater investments. Another significant change highlighted by Almeida is the elimination of prior inspection procedures that previously conditioned the start of business activities.
He further explained that in the pursuit of automation, licenses for generators and elevators in hotel units will now be part of the normal inspection mechanisms. With these measures under ‘Simplifica Turismo’, the Government intends to create administrative conditions to boost the tourism market, simplify licensing processes, facilitate the life cycle of the sector, and promote private investment and diversification of tourism offerings in Angola.
The 5th meeting of the Council of Ministers was chaired by the President of the Republic, Joo Louren§o.
