New York: Angolan Foreign Minister T©te Ant³nio is currently in New York, participating in the High-Level Meeting of the United Nations Security Council focused on Counterterrorism in Africa. The meeting, taking place on Tuesday, is part of a two-day work schedule at the United Nations headquarters.
According to Angola Press News Agency, the event is organized by Algeria, which holds the rotating presidency of the Security Council for the current month. The meeting aims to address the impact of terrorism on sustainable development across the African continent. Algeria plans to conclude the event with the adoption of a Presidential Declaration, which is intended to support African states in their efforts to combat terrorism, incorporating measures related to social, economic development, and security.
During his visit, Minister T©te Ant³nio is also scheduled to attend a working lunch with members of the UN Security Council to discuss issues related to the Democratic Republic of Congo and the Luanda Process. Additionally, he will engage in bilateral meetings with the chairman of the Security Council, Ahmed Attaf, other counterparts, and various United Nations entities.
