Angolan Federations to Launch Karting Driver Training School in Moxico

Luanda: The Angolan Federations of Motorcycling (FAM) and Motor Sports (FADM) have announced plans to establish a karting driver training school in Moxico province in the first quarter of this year. This initiative marks a significant step towards developing motorsports in the region. According to Angola Press News Agency, the presidents of the federations revealed this plan following a meeting with Moxico's provincial governor, Ernesto Muangala. António dos Santos Silva, president of the Angolan Federation of Motor Sports, stated that the project's primary goal is to popularize karting in Angola by focusing on training children under 15 years of age. Dos Santos Silva indicated that the federation will supply small motorcycles to support the karting initiative. The project has been presented to provincial authorities, who have committed to providing a dedicated space for permanent karting activities in Moxico. In the interim, while waiting for permanent infrastructure to be built, training sessions for kar ting and "FZ" for minors will be held at the Peace Monument and a commercial venue in the region. Additionally, Marcos Fonseca, president of the FAM, announced plans for a regional motocross championship in Moxico this year. The federations aim to position Moxico as a motorsports hub akin to other provinces in Angola's central and southern regions.
