Angolan Diplomat Presents Credentials to CPLP Executive Secretary

Lisbon: The permanent representative of Angola to the CPLP, Evaristo Malheiros Dias da Silva, delivered the Letters of Credence to the executive secretary of the organization, Zacarias da Costa, in Lisbon on Wednesday.



According to Angola Press News Agency, during the ceremony, Zacarias da Costa introduced the facilities of the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (CPLP) to the Angolan diplomat. He also conveyed support for collaborative efforts aimed at advancing the organization’s objectives.



The executive secretary highlighted that joint efforts would span various sectors within the community, which was established on July 17, 1996. The CPLP serves as a prominent multilateral forum for fostering mutual friendship and cooperation among its member states.



Zacarias da Costa emphasized the importance of enhanced collaboration between member countries, citing joint actions taken during the COVID-19 pandemic as a testament to the organization’s proactive approach. He noted that the CPLP remained active in executing projects aligned with its mandate during the global health crisis.



In turn, Ambassador Evaristo Malheiros Dias da Silva, said that the CPLP countries can continue to count on Angola’s collaboration for the preparation and execution of all the organization’s projects.
