Luanda: The Secretary of State for Social Communication, Nuno Caldas Albino, on Tuesday highlighted that Angola’s new diplomatic strategies have significantly enhanced the country’s visibility and reputation on the global stage.
According to Angola Press News Agency, Albino made these remarks during the 42nd thematic session on ‘International Cooperation Programs and Angolan Communities in the Diaspora.’ He emphasized that Angola has adopted a novel approach in its international relations, focusing on economic diplomacy to solidify its presence in strategic partnerships with countries such as the United States, as well as other European and Asian nations.
He further illustrated these diplomatic successes by referencing President Joe Biden’s visit to Angola last November and the upcoming U.S.-Africa High-Level Summit, which Angola is set to host. These events mark significant milestones in Angola’s international engagement and are indicative of the country’s growing prominence.
Albino also mentioned the government’s approval of a commission dedicated to developing the Angola brand, aimed at leveraging the country’s ‘soft power’ effectively. This initiative seeks to capitalize on diplomatic achievements by promoting Angola’s cultural identity and potential on the world stage.
The thematic sessions, organized by the Ministry of Telecommunications, Information Technology, and Media (MINTTCS), are integral to the government’s program aimed at strengthening ties with its citizens.
