Luanda: From January to date, the National Bank of Angola (BNA) has sold 105.4 million US dollars to airlines to secure their regular operations. According to Angola Press News Agency, April saw the highest volume of transactions, totaling 94.4 million US dollars, which corresponded to the sector's total outstanding transactions. The statement also said that airlines have benefited from the availability of foreign exchange through commercial banks. It added that foreign exchange has been provided to airlines in a complementary manner involving interventions by both the BNA and commercial banks, which has contributed to greater stability in access to foreign currency for entities in the sector.
