Angolan Athlete Wins Bronze in Weight Throw at CPLP Games

Dili: Domingas Nkai, an Angolan athlete, clinched the bronze medal in the weight throw event at the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (CPLP) Games held in Dili, Timor-Leste. According to Angola Press News Agency, Nkai achieved a throw of 8.21 meters at the Dili Municipal Stadium. The event saw Portugal's Margarida Bento secure the gold medal with a mark of 13.07 meters, while Cape Verde's Sacha Semedo took the silver medal with a throw of 10.15 meters. Host nation representative Joviana da Costa finished in fourth place with a throw of 8 meters. In addition to Nkai's success, the Angola national team has already garnered three bronze medals at the games. Domilde Fernando and Jasmine Amaral contributed to this tally by winning bronze in taekwondo in the -55 kg and -46 kg categories, respectively. Angola's delegation is also participating in a variety of disciplines, including karate, taekwondo, beach volleyball, chess, tennis, soccer, men's and women's 3x3 basketball, and both conventional and ada pted track and field events. The 12th edition of the CPLP Games brings together athletes from countries such as Portugal, Mozambique, Cape Verde, So Tomé and Príncipe, East Timor, and Angola. Established in 1992, the CPLP Games originated as a social gathering for young athletes from Portuguese-speaking nations.
