Angolan Ambassador Presents Credentials to New Zealand Leadership

Wellington: Angolan diplomat Antonio Luvualu de Carvalho officially became Angola's ambassador to New Zealand after presenting his credentials to Governor-General Cindy Kiro in a ceremony held on Wednesday. This event, taking place in Wellington, marks a significant step in the diplomatic relations between Angola and New Zealand.

According to Angola Press News Agency, Antonio Luvualu de Carvalho, who is based in Canberra, Australia, is the first Angolan ambassador to Oceania to establish formal diplomatic ties with the New Zealand government. In a press release issued by the Angolan Embassy in Australia, it was revealed that Ambassador Luvualu de Carvalho delivered a message from President Joo Louren§o, emphasizing Angola's commitment to enhancing friendship and cooperation with New Zealand.

The ambassador outlined several priority areas for collaboration, including agriculture, fishing, marine conservation, investment, higher education, science and technology, trade, tourism, transport, culture, and sport. Governor-General Cindy Kiro acknowledged the ambassador's message and expressed New Zealand's interest in strengthening bilateral relations with Angola, also wishing prosperity to the Angolan people.
