Angolan Ambassador Officially Becomes Non-Resident Representative in Czech Republic

Prague: The Angolan ambassador to Germany, Maria Isabel Gomes Godinho de Resende Encoge, recently presented her credentials to the President of the Czech Republic, Petr Pavel, thus making her officially the country's non-resident representative in that European state. According to Angola Press News Agency, the official ceremony took place at Prague Castle, in the Czech capital. During a brief audience granted to her by the Czech Head of State, the Angolan diplomat conveyed the greetings of the Angolan President, Joo Lourenço. At the time, she reaffirmed Angola's commitment to strengthening political, diplomatic, and trade relations between the two countries. Maria Isabel Encoge highlighted Angola's availability to continue with ongoing cooperation projects, focusing on the sectors of sustainable agriculture, economic diversification, defense, as well as security. In turn, the Czech Republic considers Angola one of the most promising partners in Sub-Saharan Africa, with an interest in technology transfer, p rivate investment, and deepening diplomatic relations, developing the identification of new areas of common interest and strengthening strategic dialogue. The appointment of Maria Isabel Encoge represents another step in strengthening the partnership between Angola and the Czech Republic, at a time marked by the dynamism of international relations the two states have maintained. According to the document, the Angolan community residing in the Czech Republic comprises more than 400 citizens, mostly students and qualified professionals, who are considered a bridge for the promotion and attraction of investment to Angola.
