Luanda: Angola is set to host the 7th African Union-European Union (AU-EU) Summit on November 24 and 25, marking a significant event aimed at strengthening 25 years of collaboration between the two continents. The summit coincides with Angola's rotating presidency of the African Union, highlighting its strategic role in fostering intercontinental relations.
According to Angola Press News Agency, the summit will focus on key topics including the EU-AU Joint Vision for 2030, which encompasses economic prosperity, human development, and the defense of multilateralism. Discussions will also cover digital acceleration, mobility, and the fight against climate change. The event will address the Global Gateway investment package for infrastructure in Angola, along with regional peace and security, economic integration, migration, and the reform of multilateral institutions.
In addition to the main summit, parallel events such as the AU-EU Business Forum and the Civil Society and Youth Forum are scheduled to take place. These forums aim to foster dialogue and cooperation among business leaders, civil society representatives, and youth participants.
The upcoming AU-EU Summit follows the successful organization of the 17th United States-Africa Business Summit and the 3rd Financing for Infrastructure Development in Africa summit, both held in Luanda earlier this year. These preceding events set a precedent for productive international engagement and dialogue in Angola.
