Tallinn: The Minister of Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Social Communication, Mário Oliveira, reaffirmed on Tuesday in Estonia, Angola’s openness to the construction of cyber security and artificial intelligence academies.
According to Angola Press News Agency, the Angolan government official spoke on the first day of the event, representing the President of the Republic, João Lourenço. Mário Oliveira discussed opportunities and partnerships within the European Union’s Global Gateway initiative, aiming to accelerate and promote the digital economy in Angola.
The minister highlighted several initiatives implemented by the Government of Angola and identified potential areas for partnerships, such as staff training and connectivity. He emphasized that Angola is open to various collaborations, including the construction of equipment factories to enhance employability and training for young people, enabling them to meet the challenges in the sector.
The Angolan delegation at the event includes
Manuel Chaves, the extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador of Angola to the Republics of Poland, Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania, along with staff from the Ministry of Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Social Communication. During the event, Mário Oliveira met with the national Cyber director of the White House of the United States, ministers, ambassadors, and representatives from public and private companies, including the Estonian Academy of Electronic Governance.
On different occasions, the Angolan minister engaged with the Serbian ambassador to Estonia and the Ministers of Foreign Affairs and TTI of Estonia. The central topics of discussion included cyber security, electronic governance, and digital transformation. The summit concludes today.
