Angola Reaffirms Commitment to Peace Diplomacy in Africa

Luanda – Angola’s Foreign Affairs Minister, Téte António, has affirmed the nation’s ongoing commitment to fostering peace across Africa, with a particular focus on regions including the Great Lakes, SADC, West Africa, Central Africa, and the Gulf of Guinea. In a message marking Angolan Diplomats’ Day, as per a new release by the Foreign Affairs Ministry, António highlighted Angola’s dedication to peace diplomacy through conflict prevention, resolution mechanisms, and continuous dialogue.

According to Angola Press News Agency, The message emphasized Angola’s foreign policy, rooted in respect and equality between states, peaceful conflict resolution, and cooperative progress towards social justice. The minister expressed Angola’s aim to enhance its role in international forums and utilize international cooperation to improve the quality of life for Angolans.

Téte António also mentioned Angola’s strategy to attract private foreign investment as part of its efforts to diversify the national economy. He called on diplomats to contribute effectively to this endeavor. The message underscored Angola’s journey towards consolidating democracy and economic growth, considering these as vital for addressing the population’s pressing issues and establishing Angola as a global benchmark.

The minister took the opportunity to honor those who have served with dedication towards achieving peace, unity, and stability in Angola. He concluded by stating that the Foreign Affairs Ministry will persist with ongoing reforms for more assertive diplomacy, staff qualification, and rejuvenation initiatives.
