Cape Town: The Secretary of State for Tourism, Augusto Kalikemala, on Wednesday, elaborated on Angola's strategic efforts to enhance its tourism sector, aiming to position the country as a key player in Africa's tourism development scene. The initiative seeks to attract investments that will drive the growth of national tourism.
According to Angola Press News Agency, Kalikemala addressed participants at the International Conference on the Travel Market, emphasizing the need for a more robust presence of Angolan investors in future editions. The goal is to ensure that the country's tourism products and potential are prominently showcased, thereby increasing their distribution across African countries and beyond.
The conference, which features tour operators and distributors from 99 countries globally, is focused on invigorating the tourism market. Kalikemala highlighted the intention for these operators to familiarize themselves with Angola and, subsequently, channel tourists to the nation.
Additionally, the Angolan consul in Cape Town, Elsa Caposso Vicente, noted the event's participation by tourists and investors from South Africa and other countries, all expressing interest in investing in Angola's burgeoning tourism sector.
