Angola Maintains Position in FIFA Ranking

Luanda: Angola remains in 89th position in the ranking of the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA), with 1,263 points, according to the update of the table released on Monday by the governing body of the sport.

According to Angola Press News Agency, the FIFA ranking is led by Spain with 1,877.18 points, followed closely by Argentina with 1,873.33 points, and France at 1,870 points, completing the top three. Angola, while maintaining its ranking both globally and in Africa, experienced a slight decrease in its score, previously standing at 1,271.54 points.

Morocco holds the distinction of being the highest-ranked African country in the FIFA rankings, placing eighth with 1,736.57 points. This positions Morocco as the leading nation on the continent, followed by Senegal, which ranks 12th in the world and second in Africa with 1,706.83 points. Nigeria follows as the third-ranked African nation, standing at 26th in the world with 1,581.55 points.

Among Portuguese-speaking countries, Brazil and Portugal are prominent, occupying the 5th and 6th positions, respectively, with scores of 1,760.46 and 1,760.38 points. In terms of the PALOP (Portuguese-speaking African Countries), Cape Verde, which has made history by qualifying for a World Cup for the first time, is positioned at 67th with 1,370.49 points. Mozambique is ranked 101st with 1,224.31 points, while Guinea-Bissau stands at 133rd with 1,108.09 points.
