Luanda: The Angolan Football Federation (FAF) has announced that the new national football coach will be officially presented in Luanda on Thursday. According to Angola Press News Agency, the national team has been without a coach since February of this year, following the termination of Frenchman Patrice Beaumelle's contract. Beaumelle had led the team during the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, where Angola faced an early exit after being eliminated in the group stage. The FAF had previously promised to announce the new coach, who will be the second appointment in just six months, but the announcement has been delayed until now. Before Beaumelle, the national team was under the leadership of Portuguese coach Pedro Gonçalves for six years. Gonçalves's tenure ended in September 2025 when his contract was terminated by the FAF.
