Hanoi: The Republics of Angola and Vietnam expressed, on Wednesday in Hanoi, interest in deepening and diversifying cooperation relations in the most varied fields of political, diplomatic, economic, commercial and technical-scientific life.
According to Angola Press News Agency, this was expressed during a courtesy meeting that the Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Lª Minh Hung, granted to Angola's Foreign Affairs Minister, Tete Antonio. The officials reviewed the state of bilateral relations and highlighted the need to strengthen existing cooperation mechanisms, with a special focus on the areas of trade, agriculture, manufacturing, fisheries, telecommunications, education, health, and training.
The parties recalled the historic ties of friendship, solidarity, and mutual support that have united the two countries since the period of their national liberation struggles, stressing that this political heritage constitutes a solid foundation for building a strategic partnership aimed at sustainable development and the well-being of their respective peoples.
Lª Minh Hung reaffirmed his government's willingness to continue working with Angola to identify new partnership and investment opportunities, highlighting his country's experience in the agricultural, industrial, and technological sectors. The Angolan minister, on his turn, reaffirmed his country's commitment to raising the level of bilateral relations, encouraging closer ties between the economic actors of the two countries and promoting concrete initiatives for mutually beneficial cooperation.
Angola and Vietnam maintain diplomatic relations based on mutual respect, friendship, and cooperation, with significant potential for increasing bilateral trade, investment, and technical cooperation in sectors that are strategic for the economic development of both states. The meeting took place in an atmosphere of great cordiality and understanding, reflecting the shared political will to consolidate and expand the partnership between Angola and Vietnam in the coming years.
