Addis Ababa: Angola Foreign Affairs Minister, T©te Ant³nio, and his Tunisian counterpart, Mohamed Ali Nafti, convened in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, to explore avenues for enhancing bilateral cooperation across various sectors, including political, diplomatic, economic, and commercial fields.

According to Angola Press News Agency, the meeting was held at the African Union headquarters during the sidelines of the 46th session of the AU Executive Council, which concluded on Thursday. Both ministers emphasized the importance of strengthening educational ties, particularly through scholarship programs, and assessed ongoing efforts to promote cultural and educational exchanges. Discussions also included potential partnerships in training and academic experience exchanges.

In a significant development, Tunisia has unilaterally decided to open its borders to Angolan citizens, permitting stays of up to ninety days, contingent on compliance with the country’s legal requirements. This move is expected to further facilitate the growing relations between the two nations.

Relations between Angola and Tunisia are built on a foundation of diplomatic and bilateral cooperation, with shared objectives in regional and international forums aimed at promoting peace, stability, and development across the African continent. Both countries are actively exploring opportunities to increase bilateral trade and investment, particularly in vital sectors such as energy, agriculture, and tourism.
