Madrid: The Minister of National Defence, Former Combatants and Veterans of the Fatherland, Joo Ernesto dos Santos ‘Liberdade’, is currently on a working visit to Spain to participate in the 4th Edition of the International Defence and Security Fair (FEINDEF-2025), which is being held from the 12th to the 14th of this month.
According to Angola Press News Agency, the minister’s visit comes in response to an invitation from his Spanish counterpart, Margarita Roubles. On Monday, the Angolan delegation took part in the opening ceremony, which was attended by various Ministers of Defense from different countries. During the ceremony, speakers emphasized the importance of advancing technology in the areas of Cyber-Defense and Cyber-Space to safeguard the freedom and security of democratic institutions.
The event featured a bilateral meeting between the Angolan and Spanish counterparts, where they reviewed the current state of defense cooperation between the two nations. The Spanish side proposed a visit to their military health establishment to showcase the new and modern technology that has been supported by investments from the Spanish government.
The Angolan delegation also attended a round table discussion on ‘The Technological Challenges and Operational Transformation of the Spanish Armed Forces’, as well as other topics related to the defense industry. Additionally, they visited several pavilions showcasing the technological advancements in the defense industry.
