Luanda: Angola and Serbia will sign ten cooperation agreements in the economic field this week in Belgrade, as part of the official visit of the President of the Republic, Joo Louren§o, to that European country. The information was released on Monday by the minister of Foreign Affairs, T©te Ant³nio, who considered the legal instruments an important step to facilitate investment and strengthen economic cooperation between the two states.
According to Angola Press News Agency, among the agreements foreseen, the minister highlighted the Agreement to Avoid Double Taxation and the Agreement for the Promotion and Reciprocal Protection of Investments, which may be signed during a business roundtable. These instruments reinforce the guarantees offered to Serbian entrepreneurs already present in Angola and create better conditions for the expansion of their investments.
He informed that, during the roundtable, the Angolan Head of State is to present the existing investment opportunities in Angola and encourage greater economic dynamism between the two countries. The minister stressed that Angola and Serbia maintain a solid political relationship and can deepen economic cooperation for the benefit of their respective peoples.
He also spoke of the industrial development and economic growth achieved by Serbia, factors that can contribute to Angola's ambitions to diversify the economy. "Serbia is a partner with the experience and capacity to support Angola's objectives in the field of economic diversification and industrial development," he said.
According to T©te Ant³nio, Joo Louren§o's visit represents another step in consolidating the historic relations of friendship and cooperation between the two countries. The minister reiterated Angola's political will to preserve and deepen this partnership, highlighting the country's openness to foreign investment and international cooperation. 'Angola is open to the world and determined to realize its agenda of economic development, diversification of the economy and resolution of structural challenges that other countries have already managed to overcome,' he stressed.
T©te Ant³nio added that the transformation of the Angolan economy requires the establishment of multiple strategic partnerships, framing cooperation with Serbia within this national development effort.
