Angola and Senegal Forge Closer Ties Between Ombudsman Offices

Luanda: The Ombudsman's Offices of Angola and Senegal signed an institutional cooperation agreement on Wednesday in Luanda, marking a significant step in the collaboration between the two nations. This agreement is part of the celebrations of the 21st anniversary of the Angolan institution.

According to Angola Press News Agency, the agreement was formalized by the heads of the two institutions, Florbela Rocha Araºjo of Angola and Demba Kandji of Senegal. The cooperation framework aims to facilitate the exchange of knowledge, share experiences, and adopt best practices in fulfilling their respective duties.

The primary focus areas of this cooperation include the organization and operation of the Ombudsmen's Offices, procedures and methodologies for complaint analysis and investigation, and mechanisms for mediation between citizens and the Public Administration.

Additionally, the agreement emphasizes institutional communication, citizen outreach strategies, administrative modernization, digitization of services, and information management. It also includes joint participation in regional and international networks of Ombudsmen, fostering a broader global cooperation.

The signing ceremony, held at the Palace of Justice, was attended by ombudsmen and mediators from various countries who were present for the 21st-anniversary celebrations of the Angolan institution.
