Angola and Kenya Enhance Bilateral Ties at Luanda Meeting.

Luanda: The state of bilateral cooperation between Angola and Kenya was the focal point of a working meeting held between the heads of diplomacy of the two nations on Sunday night in Luanda. This meeting took place during the 18th ordinary session of the Interministerial Committee of the International Conference on the Great Lakes Region (ICGLR).

According to Angola Press News Agency, the discussions involved Angola’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Téte António, and Kenya’s Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Wycliffe Mudavadi. The leaders examined the level of bilateral cooperation, alongside regional and multilateral issues affecting both countries.

A significant portion of the dialogue centered on regional matters, including the situation in the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and ongoing conflicts in Somalia, Sudan, and other parts of Africa. The two diplomats also explored key areas of cooperation and other mechanisms to intensify their partnerships, aiming to enhance socio-economi
c development and bolster regional integration on the continent.

In recent years, Angola and Kenya have fortified their bilateral cooperation, emphasizing sectors such as Economy, Trade, Agriculture, Tourism, Education, Technology, Energy, Security, and Defence. The countries share historical ties and mutual interests in sustainable development and regional stability, particularly within the African Union (AU) framework.

Kenya, located in East Africa with its capital in Nairobi, has a population of approximately 45 million. The country’s primary economic activity revolves around agriculture, prominently through the export of tea and coffee.
