Angola and Gabon to Revitalize Bilateral Agreements During Presidential Visit

Libreville: The official visit by Angolan President Joo Lourenço to Gabon on Monday is set to revitalize the 11 existing agreements between the two nations. This visit aims to strengthen bilateral ties and foster cooperation in several key sectors.

According to Angola Press News Agency, Minister of Foreign Affairs Téte António highlighted that this visit will provide both countries with an opportunity to negotiate new agreements, specifically in the fields of energy and agriculture. Gabon, being a major oil producer, offers extensive experience in agriculture, particularly in forest exploitation, which Angola aims to leverage.

Additionally, António emphasized Gabon’s strategic importance, noting that it hosts the headquarters of the Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS). With the ECCAS commission headed by Angolan Gilberto Veríssimo, the visit will also address regional issues, making Libreville a crucial venue for discussions between the two Heads of State.

ld of Culture is expected to be signed on Monday, with further cooperation in the blue economy and Justice sector likely to be finalized during a future visit by Gabonese President Oligui Nguema to Angola.
