Angola and Gabon Plan Business Council Creation to Boost Trade

Luanda: Vicente Soares, the chairperson of the Angolan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIA), announced on Thursday in Luanda that an Angola/Gabon Business Council will be created shortly to boost trade between the business communities of the two countries.

According to Angola Press News Agency, Soares disclosed that a cooperation protocol had been submitted to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for evaluation. He described the current level of trade between Angola and Gabon as low and emphasized the urgent need to change this situation given their strategic locations on the African continent.

Soares highlighted the similarities between Angola and Gabon, particularly in the agricultural, fishing, and mining sectors. He pointed out that these areas should be developed to accelerate economic diversification in both countries. He also mentioned that Angola might consider investing in Gabon within the framework of the Continental Free Trade Area due to Angola's slight advancements in some sectors. Establishing connections is seen as crucial to boosting trade and investment between the two nations.
