Luanda: Angola Airlines received on Wednesday, at Ant³nio Agostinho Neto International Airport (AIAAN), in the province of Icolo e Bengo, the newest aircraft in its fleet, the Airbus A200-300, with the registration D2-TAJ.
According to Angola Press News Agency, the incorporation of this latest generation aircraft aligns with the 2024-2029 strategic plan and signals the focus on the modernization and transformation of the company. TAAG’s Airbus A200-300 has a total capacity of 137 passengers, configured with 12 seats in business class and 125 in economy class. It is recognized globally for its operational performance, especially in fuel efficiency and environmental impact reduction.
With the inclusion of the fourth Airbus A200-300, TAAG strengthens its multi-brand strategy by reinforcing its fleet with a modern, versatile aircraft. This enhances comfort and convenience for passengers, bringing greater competitiveness and reach to destinations in Africa.
The new aircraft was named “Luvili” to honor Angolan cultural identity, referencing Mount Luvili, a significant rock formation in the province of Huambo, in the commune of Alto Hama. This choice emphasizes TAAG’s commitment to valuing national cultural and geographical references while integrating them into its modern fleet.
According to the press release, this delivery is part of the order cycle conducted with the lessor Air Lease Corporation (ALC) and represents a step in renewing the TAAG fleet. This move is aligned with the company’s growth vision in Africa and supports its strategic goals of operational excellence, commercial superiority, and enhanced connectivity and hub offerings.
